TEWS Technologies Introduces TPMC151: Advanced 4-Channel Resolver/LVDT/RVDT-to-Digital Converter PMC Module

TPMC151 adds cost-effective Resolver or LVDT/RVDT-to-Digital PMC based on an FPGA design for flexibility, high-reliability, and long-life cycle for advanced and high-demanding motion control applications.

Key Features of the TPMC151

  • High-Resolution Conversion: Provides 16-bit resolution for precise digital angle and stroke, and a digital velocity value.
  • Flexible Input and Output Options: Supports programmable sensor input (0-12 VRMS) and excitation output (0-12 VRMS, 1-20 kHz) for each channel, allowing customization for specific application needs.
  • Dual Configuration: The TPMC151-20R variant offers two Resolver channels and two Synchro-to-Digital Converter channels, accommodating systems that require a mix of sensor types.
  • Comprehensive Software Support: Available for various operating systems, including Integrity, VxWorks, Windows, Linux, and QNX, ensuring broad compatibility and ease of integration.

TEWS Technologies, a leading provider of embedded I/O solutions, is proud to announce the launch of the TPMC151, a versatile 4-channel Resolver or LVDT/RVDT-to-Digital Converter module designed to meet the stringent demands of customers in various industries. The TPMC151 offers cutting-edge performance, flexibility, and reliability, making it an ideal choice for systems requiring precise position and velocity measurements in harsh environments.

The TPMC151 is a standard single-width 32-bit PMC module that supports a 33 MHz / 32-bit universal (5 V / 3.3 V) PCI interface, ensuring seamless integration with a wide range of systems. It features four channels capable of converting Resolver or LVDT/RVDT signals into high-resolution digital data, with 16-bit resolution. The module accepts input signals up to 12 VRMS and operates across a broad frequency range of 1 kHz to 20 kHz, with a tracking rate of up to ¼ of the excitation frequency.

“The TPMC151 is designed to deliver exceptional performance in applications where precision and durability are paramount,” said Jan Zimmermann, General Manager at TEWS Technologies. “This module exemplifies our commitment to providing advanced embedded solutions that meet the rigorous standards of our end customers.”

The TPMC151 is built on a Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) platform, which not only enhances its processing capabilities but also extends its long-term availability. By utilizing FPGA technology, the module minimizes reliance on sole-source components, ensuring that critical systems can be supported and maintained over extended periods without the risk of obsolescence.

Software support for different operating systems including Linux, Windows, VxWorks, GreenHills® Integrity, and QNX Neutrino is available.  The driver includes device driver source code (except for Windows which offers installable device driver binary), example source code, and a user manual.
